The 2021 Dodge SRT lineup has made its official debut, arriving with an earth-moving 8,950 horsepower between them.
The most notable new addition to the 2021 Dodge SRT lineup is the Durango Hellcat. With a supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI V8 engine sitting under the hood, the Durango Hellcat is good for a whopping 710 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque.
Paired with standard all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission, the blown V8 will enable the Durango Hellcat to accelerate from zero to 96 km/h (60 mph) in just 3.5 seconds. It will also complete the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds and will top out at a vision-blurring 290 km/h.
Don't let the supercharged engine fool you - the Durango Hellcat isn't all about drag-strip performance. This 700-plus-hp three-row SUV can tow up to 8,700 lb, so it's still a sensible option for those who want to tow their boat to the lake or a camper out into the woods. There are also seven available drive modes – Auto, Sport, Track, Snow, Tow, Eco, and Valet – that help ensure this big utility is still ready for any situation.
Also new to the 2021 Dodge SRT lineup is the Challenger SRT Super Stock. The Super Stock is based on the Challenger Widebody platform and is powered by a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 that is good for 807 hp and 707 lb-ft. Truly setting this package apart are the 18-by-11-inch drag wheels and sticky Nitto NT05R drag radial tires, which help the coupe to accelerate from zero to 96 km/h in 3.25 seconds (in ideal conditions) and complete the quarter-mile in just 10.5 seconds at 131 mph. The package comes with Brembo four-piston front brakes and a performance limited-slip differential with 3.09 gears, as well.
That's not all Dodge and SRT have new for 2021. FCA has also dropped the Hellcat Redeye engine into the Charger Widebody four-door, creating a 797 hp super sedan with a dizzying top speed of 203 mph. The Charger Hellcat Redeye is also the fastest Charger ever in the quarter-mile with a time of 10.6 seconds at 129 mph. Standard Charger Hellcat models get a power boost from 707 hp to 717 hp for the 2021 model year, too.
Moving away from the performance-focused SRT models, the entire Dodge Durango lineup also gets a number of updates for the 2021 model year. This includes a revised front fascia, redesigned LED headlights and a redesigned interior with a new flat-bottom steering wheel and available 10.1-inch Uconnect infotainment screen.
Look for the 2021 SRT models, along with the 2021 Durango, to arrive at Dodge dealers this fall.
