2024 Range Rover Velar Gets New Lights and Updated Cabin

The Range Rover Velar is getting some subtle enhancements for 2024. The stylish SUV adds connected tech and a new centre screen as well as some other cabin enhancements.

Land Rover's changes to the design are minor but help keep the SUV fresh. There are new super-slim headlights with a more technical appearance and a jewel-like look. The rear bumper cover is also new, and there are some additional dark accents in place of lighter trim.

The changes inside are more substantial, starting with the new 11.4-inch centre screen. The screen itself is new, and it gets a convex bend to match the curve of the dashboard it visually floats on top of.

New software is also part of the refresh. Over-the-air updates are now included, and Amazon Alexa joins the wireless versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is Land Rover's latest and is designed to make access to every feature quicker and easier. The company says 80 per cent of commands are just two taps from the home screen.

Redesigned seats with new materials and colours are also part of the 2024 Velar cabin update. One of the highlights is a new leather-free interior that includes wool seats from Danish textile company Kvadrat. Land Rover says the wool blends are lighter than leather and offer a more modern luxury experience.

Active road noise cancellation is also new. The Meridian sound system detects sound frequencies coming in from the outside and works to cancel them out. Land Rover says it cuts interior sound levels by at least 4 dB and makes the new Velar the vehicle with the least road noise in its class.

The 2024 Range Rover Velar is available to order now. It will be offered as the 247-hp 2.0L turbo four-cylinder P250 model, the 335-hp 3.0L inline-six with mild hybrid badged P340, as well as the 395-hp P400 model. Pricing starts from $68,400.
