Buick has just revealed a concept electric SUV that will debut at the Beijing auto show. And if this is a look at where Buick styling is headed, then we like that direction.
The Enspire concept takes the styling of the Avenir and Avista concepts and turns it into a crossover. The vehicle manages to look sharp and curvy, depending on the angle. The wide grille bar and pinched headlights are matched in the rear by ultra-thin wraparound taillights. The side is missing things like door handles and actual rear-view mirrors - concepts don't need those - and the roofline has an extra thin black trim piece to give it a floating roof look.

Inside, it uses a very odd-looking steering wheel design that gives a better look at the dashboard. There is also an unusual non-square centre infotainment display. Materials inside include natural wood and microfiber suede.
Buick says that the concept has 550 hp from the electric motor system, and is capable of 600 km on a charge. But this is a concept, so the automaker can be generous with the technical side. The concept also has wireless charging and can fill to 80 percent in 40 minutes.
There are no signs as to the chances for production of the Enspire, but Buick calls it "an exploration of Buick’s bold design ideas and innovative technologies for future mobility." Enjoy it for its design language and hope that Buick brings something close to this to its next generation of production crossovers.
